The 2nd West China Sexual and Reproductive Academic Conference Successfully Concluded, Exploring New Directions in the Discipline's Development

From September 20-21, 2025, the “2nd West China Sexual and Reproductive Academic Conference” was successfully held in Chengdu. The conference was organized by the Sichuan Sexual Science Association and the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association, with the Sichuan University West China Second Hospital and the Sichuan University West China Fourth Hospital as the joint organizers. Nearly 500 industry experts and scholars from across the country gathered to discuss the current status, hot topics, and challenges in the field of sexual and reproductive health, sharing the latest research findings and discussing future trends in the discipline.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Li Fuping, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Sichuan Sexual Science Association. Professor Li shared a series of authoritative data on sexual and reproductive health with the attendees and pointed out that academic research and industry development in sexual and reproductive health have become a significant trend of the times. He expressed his expectation to collaborate with all the guests to advance progress in the field. He also extended a warm welcome to the experts and scholars who had traveled from afar.

In his keynote speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dai Yutian, President of the China Sexology Association, highly praised the convening of the conference, calling it “timely and relevant” and stating that it provided strong academic support for the construction of a fertility-friendly society in China. Mr. Dai also fully recognized and commended the meticulous academic arrangements made by the organizers, as well as the Sichuan Sexual Science Association’s long-standing efforts and exploration in the field of sexual and reproductive health. He further expressed his hope that the conference would generate high-level academic exchange outcomes and encouraged the Sichuan Sexual Science Association to continue playing a leading role in the region, strengthening cooperation with the national China Sexology Association to contribute more to the high-quality development of sexual health in China.
