Featured on "Innovation China" | Professor Tom F. Lue and WBL Medical: Technological Innovation Leading a New Era in ED Treatment
Date:2025-05-13 Redact:WBL

The successful transformation and widespread application of WBL’s LIPUS (Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound) technology owe much to the pioneering ideas of two key figures — Academician Guo Yinglu from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor Tom F. Lue from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Their visionary insights paved the way for the birth of the WBL LIPUS technology. Especially in the field of urological health, Professor Lue, as a global pioneer in treating erectile dysfunction (ED), not only provided scientific theoretical support but also, through years of clinical research, transformed this concept into an actionable treatment plan, making the WBL LIPUS technology a prime example of innovation in international medical technology today.

WBL Medical: Leading Global Innovation in ED Treatment with LIPUS Technology

WBL’s LIPUS technology works by activating resident stem cells within tissues, promoting angiogenesis and nerve repair, significantly improving erectile function in ED patients. Not only does it fill the domestic technological gap, but it also provides an innovative solution for global ED treatment. This breakthrough technology is supported by deep collaboration with global urology authority Professor Tom F. Lue from UCSF. Since 2002, Professor Lue has focused on stem cells and regenerative medicine, playing a decisive scientific guiding role in the development of LIPUS technology.

As the first medical enterprise selected for the CCTV "Innovation China" program, WBL Medical not only demonstrates its achievements in scientific innovation and clinical application but has also established its influence in the global medical technology field. Currently, LIPUS technology is widely used in top-tier hospitals in 16 provinces and cities across China, benefiting millions of patients and significantly enhancing their quality of life. With numerous national honors, WBL Medical has become a core driver in the ED treatment field in China, with its technical standards widely recognized and regarded as the "gold standard" for ED treatment.

Professor Lue, as a professor in the UCSF Department of Urology and founder of the Knuppe Molecular Urology Laboratory, has been dedicated to stem cell and regenerative medicine research for many years. Since 2002, Professor Lue has made revolutionary advancements in the development of Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS) technology. By exploring the integration of stem cells, energy medicine, and regenerative technology, Professor Lue discovered that LIPUS can stimulate dormant stem cells in human tissues through micro-energy sound waves, promoting the regeneration of blood vessels and nerves, thus effectively treating erectile dysfunction (ED). This groundbreaking discovery not only brings new hope for ED patients but also provides a new technological pathway for the global regenerative medicine field. Professor Lue’s research has made LIPUS technology a breakthrough treatment for ED, establishing his academic status and leadership in the international urology field.
