Launch Ceremony of the 2026 Chinese Expert Consensus


A launch ceremony for the 2026 Chinese Expert Consensus was held during the conference. Four landmark consensus documents were officially released: Chinese Expert Consensus on Sexual Rehabilitation (2026), Chinese Expert Consensus on the Clinical Application of Sensate Focus Training (2026), Chinese Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Female Sexual Dysfunction (2026), and Chinese Expert Consensus on the Application of Androgens in Sexual Medicine (2026). The formulation and implementation of these authoritative consensus documents further enrich clinical guidelines in sexual medicine and sexual rehabilitation across China, providing vital standardized references for clinical diagnosis and treatment. At the conference, Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS), a key technology in energy medicine, drew extensive attention from industry experts for its clinical applications in andrology.

Multi-Dimensional Academic Discussions on LIPUS Technology

Shanghai Jiao Tong University Professor Lu Mujun delivered a keynote speech titled Advances in Regenerative Medicine in Andrology — Experience from Shanghai Renji Hospital, highlighting the prominent practical value of Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS) technology in andrology. Clinical practice has demonstrated that LIPUS boasts a wide range of application scenarios. It enables tissue repair for patients with mild-to-moderate ED, and is also applicable to diabetic ED, traumatic ED and severe ED. Favorable clinical outcomes can also be achieved for Peyronie’s disease, urinary incontinence, and chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS).
As one of the drafting experts for the Chinese Expert Consensus on Low-Intensity Extracorporeal Shock Wave / Pulsed Ultrasound Therapy for Erectile Dysfunction, Professor Lu Mujun participated in the academic validation and finalization of the consensus. This consensus systematically defines the mechanism of action, clinical efficacy and indications of LIPUS for ED treatment, confirming its ability to target etiological treatment and promote penile functional rehabilitation, and establishes an authoritative academic basis for the standardized clinical application of LIPUS in andrology.

Professor Li Chengfu from Fuyang Second People’s Hospital presented a report entitled Clinical Application of Low-Energy Ultrasound in Mild-to-Moderate Erectile Dysfunction. Relying on the mechanobiological effect to activate endogenous repair mechanisms and boost angiogenesis and tissue regeneration, LIPUS represents a non-invasive therapy capable of ameliorating vasculogenic ED at the etiological level. The technology exhibits an excellent safety profile, with over 98% of patients demonstrating good tolerability and able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Combined with typical clinical cases, the report verified satisfactory clinical outcomes of LIPUS for vasculogenic ED and Peyronie’s disease.
Professor Li Chengfu concluded that microenergy physical therapy marks a milestone shifting ED treatment from symptomatic relief to etiological intervention, with the combined strengths of proven efficacy, non-invasiveness and endorsement by multiple guidelines and consensuses. Standardized clinical adoption, precise patient selection and combined therapeutic regimens will benefit more ED patients in the future.

Lecturer Qiu Ruying from Ningbo Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine shared a study Efficacy Comparison of Different LIPUS Energy Levels for Erectile Dysfunction. The research systematically investigated the clinical efficacy and safety of LIPUS with different energy settings for mild-to-moderate vasculogenic ED. Results showed that the medium energy Level IV achieved an efficacy rate of 85.0% with optimal therapeutic performance. It can precisely reach the effective stimulation threshold to fully activate mechanosensitive ion channels and promote angiogenesis, while avoiding tissue stress induced by excessive stimulation. Overall, this energy level is the preferred option for mild-to-moderate vasculogenic ED, featuring reliable efficacy, non-invasiveness, high patient compliance and ease of clinical promotion.
